Philips car radio 1939 - type 253V - Rare radio with remote control

Very rare car radio: made by Philips in 1939

This Philips tube radio type 253 has a remote control in the shape of a display with tuning scale and 2 knobs.
It is controlled through metal cables run through to the remote so the radio in the dashboard can be controlled.

Radio is complete and in old original and undamaged condition, have not tested it to check if it works. It would be wise to check all the old wires before use.

The radio will be sold with a copy of the original instruction booklet.

The radio still has the old original "Douane" (customs) lead seals attached to it: at the time it was mandatory to have these pieces of hallmarked lead attached when travelling abroad.

Dimensions: width approx. 19 cm, height approx. 18,5 cm en length approx. 24,5 cm; weight approx. 9 kg.
