Published by George Newnes, Ltd., London, 1898. Publisher’s original blue cloth over bevelled boards, upper boards blocked in gilt, silver and red, with vignettes depicting Fram icebound, spines blocked in gilt and silver with titles and vignettes.

A well preserved set. Solid and well bound books. Boards have slight wear with rubbing and bumping to corners. Internally the books are is in very good condition. No writing or inscriptions. Few library stamps and some marks to past down pages where labels have been removed. Occasional foxing and spotting to some pages. There is no folding map within volume two, and it is not included with the list of illustrations page. Inner hinge are very good with few splits at couple places, pages are tightly held at the gutter. The text and plates are clean and bright. The two volumes are beautifully bound, designed and illustrated (Lovely Volumes) (Please see pictures).
