Hans Kresse is the unrivalled most important comic artist in the Netherlands. The year of 2021 will be dedicated to this master; it is the year of his 100th birthday and Eric de Noorman turns 75.
In the 1960s he became the illustrator of the then very popular Arendsoog books by Jan and Paul Nowee. Not only did Kresse paint and draw covers and illustrations for the books, soon stories were also made for Pep.
On offer is a colour illustration is made for the story “Arendsoog in de strijd om de Woodsonranch”, published in 33 of 1966.
Gouache on paper, 30 x 40 cm. The illustration is in very good condition. Monogrammed and dated ‘66.
