Hans Leijerzapf was born in Leiden in 1951. In 1974 he graduated from the Koninklijke Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague, mayors in graphics and painting.
At the academy, Hans already had a penchant for anecdotal painting and drawing and felt that art should not be "exalted", but part of society. Over the years he developed his style and choice for subjects.
Hans Leijerzapf has a thing for men who are busy with everyday or unusual objects. They are often awkward poses, as if the men are doing something useless and the object doesn't matter at all.
This work comes from the company collection of DLL.
