Decorated sterling silver hotel bell from a former
hotel in London.
This one is mechanical. It is opened from the bottom by twisting. Very clear sound.
Everything works as it should.
The bell has a number of signs of wear, small dents and scratches, see the photo’s for all details.

Comyns is one of the oldest and most prestigious English silversmiths. Comyns specialised in fine silverware and is known for his interpretive works, in circa 1885 Charles Harling Comyns and Richard Harling Comyns joined their father William Comyns (died 1916). Became a limited liability company in 1930. Bought by Bernard Copping in 1953 at the death of R. H. Comyns.
