Special cooped oak barrel, from the 19th century.
The barrel has three copper straps and a copper handle. The barrel is in used but in nice complete condition. The special thing is that on the bottom is a stamp of the Dutch Trading Company. This society was founded in the early 19th century as a successor to the VOC. The keg also has a New York Trust Company seal stamp. Keg can therefore be dated at the end of the 19th century.
From the size and materials used for the keg, it must have had a precious content. Possibly Opium? This was one of the main commodities traded by the Dutch Trade Company worldwide.
