Released in England in December 1979, landed in the US in January 1980, "London Calling" was the album of consecration for the Clash. Third of the London formation, after the lucky "The Clash" and the less fortunate (but equally valid) "Give 'Em Enough Rope", the new album immediately presented itself as an ambitious work, destined to leave its mark over the decades in come: it was a double LP produced by Guy Stevens, and the cover soon became a rock icon.
