Iconic armchair by Artifort by designer Pierre Paulin. The design dates from 1966, bought in the 1980s.
The chair is in good condition with signs of wear befitting its age and use. The fabric has a small (inconspicuous) stain on the back (perhaps it can still be removed) and the fabric is a bit pilled around the zippers. The fabric features a beautiful light blue colour.
Designed for the first class waiting room of Air France who flew the Concorde.
Pierre Paulin (Paris, 9 July 1927–Montpellier, 13 June 2009) was a French industrial designer. In the Netherlands, he is known as the designer of some famous Artifort furniture. He also designed for Thonet.
