A great maritime brass ship's compensated barometer by Schatz.
Schatz was for years a leading manufacturer of classic ship’s instruments, before closing in 1985.
The barometer shows superb workmanship and is fully functional. The lacquered brass housing is in excellent condition without cracks or dents, with light patina (photos). The door is secured by a brass scuttle-clamp. The facet-cut glass port is clean and intact. The barometer is calibrated in millibars and inches (mercury units). There is a fine capillary thermometer (Celsius/Fahrenheit). The barometer may need adjusting after transport (easily done via back access).
A great opportunity to own one of these fine instruments, for use at home, in the office or on-board ship.
I pack with care (see reviews) and send securely with insurance.
