Description

Ha-de-su is subduing left leg the tiger with the left part of his body, left leg pushing on its back, with the right arm raised, ready to strike.

The tiger has its mouth open, with its snake-like tail angrily waved upwards along the warrior’s back.

Ha-de-su’s face dhows anger and determination. Himotoshi with very small holes on either side of the sword that the warrior carries on his right shoulder.


Note :

Ha-de-su is the popular name of the japanese warrior Kashiwa-dé no O-mi Ha-su-I who was sent to Korea par the emperor Kim-meï in 545.

He is said that, having reached dangerous shores after a long journey with family and companions, he tracked and killed a tiger that had taken away one of his children.

Legend says that he suffocated the tiger by shoving his arm inside its throat. (see Ko-Ji Hô-Ten vol.1 page 244 for reference see picture ).

The netsuke is signed Seki-kô, carver of the 18th century.

Complies with CE Regulation 338-97 Art.2.w.mc of 09 December 1996.

Specimen prior to June 1, 1947. Submitted according to the decree of May 4, 2017 to a prior declaration provided for in Article L. 412-1 code environment.

A physical expertise of the piece will be realized by an independent expert confirming that the piece was realized before 1947 and is well of the announced period.

This document will be given to the buyer after purchase, the document price is 50 euro and is included in the delivery costs.

For an exit of the EU, a CITES of re-export will be necessary, this one being at the charge of the future purchaser. The issuance of such a document is not automatic
