The AKG D12 is a dynamic kidney microphone with a built-in "bass chamber" in the head basket, which is designed for low frequencies from 50 to 200 Hz, and an internal shock absorber holder that separates the dynamic coil/capsule from the rest of the microphone and the microphone floor. With these functions and the ability to record very high sound pressure levels before distortion, the D12 was quickly recognized as a premiere microphone for kick drum and other loud bass instruments. This microphone was widely used in Europe in the 1950s and 1960s, most famously on Abbey Road with the Beatles.

Although the microphone cable has some signs of usage, it is in really good condition.
