Observations: We exclusively present and offer, after official publication in the Meteoritical Bulletin, this new North West Africa Iron IAB. Is being studied and officially classified by the Geologist Dr. Chris Herd from the University of Alberta (Canada).
We have official preliminary data that confirms that this meteorite is indeed a IAB, belonging to the Main Group (as defined by Wasson and Kallemeyn 2002). We already know that the data strongly indicate that this is a completely new meteorite.
All customers who purchases one of the slices of this specimen will receive, once officially published in the Meteoritical Bulletin, the new Certificate of Authenticity with the new official information published.
This Iron has been stabilized by electrolysis to try to preserve it in the long term, since being an Iron, it is very susceptible to oxidation in humid environments. For this reason, and despite the fact that it has been stabilized by electrolysis processes, it is advisable to keep it away from moisture. The slices have been made to a very fine thickness and have also been etched to observe their magnificent crystallographic patterns.
The authenticity of this meteorite is guaranteed by the Geologist J.A.Poblador (UAlic) member of the International Meteorite Collectors Association IMCA 5681 and only main mass holder of this meteorite.
