HED are meteorites from Asteroid 4 VESTA, the second largest asteroid in the solar system, and located in the asteroid belt, located between planets Mars and Jupiter.
HEDs are classified into 3 major types. Howardites, Eucrites and Diogenites.
The piece now on display is a magnificent Diogenite, on which you can appreciate its composition, as well as the multitude of its olivine crystals.
