Chondrite carbonée CK3 TRÈS RARE Fin de coupe - 8.2 g

Description
Chondrite carbonée CK3 TRÈS RARE Fin de coupe - 8.2 g
Afrique du Nord-Ouest, Maroc

It is one of the most fascinating, coveted and hard-to-find carbonaceous meteorites

CM carbonaceous chondrites are distinguished by small refractory concretions and inclusions (0.3 mm), abundant fine-grained matrix (70 vol%) and abundant hydrocarbons as well as amino acids

It makes them the oldest known material on Earth, although recently material from 7 billion years ago was found, that is, before the formation of our own planet, and even our Solar System.

Carbonaceous chondrites account for about 4% of all meteorites

The CMs have often been described as ‘the best-studied meteorite in history’.

This specimen is a lamina, showing the interior of the meteorite and the fusion crust.

They have been found to possess surprising and unknown catalyst properties.

Its minerals are able to synthesize, in an aqueous dissolution and in the presence of formamide, key organic compounds in prebiotic chemistry.

Such catalyst properties point to the fundamental role in the origin of life on our planet and why not anywhere else in the Universe

At Expometeoritos, we take care of dissemination, talks, workshops, analyses, classification and exhibitions of meteorites.

All our pieces are certified and, if the value of a piece is over €300, we also provide its chemical composition analysis, carried out in our facilities by X-ray spectrography.
