The Accutron by Bulova, launched in 1960, was the world's first all-electric watch and the most accurate timekeeping mechanism ever conceived at the time. It originally guaranteed up to 99.9977% accuracy on your wrist.
This watch uses a 360 Hz tuning fork instead of a balance wheel to power the mechanism. In contrast to the ticking sound, the Accutron makes a characteristic humming sound, caused by the vibrating tuning fork.
This Accutron in Spaceview version, with a visible movement, has a steel case, with gold-filled bezel. The case measures 34 x 37 mm and has beautiful 'lugs' that perfectly matches the new brown leather 22 cm strap. Even the 'Lume' on the hands is still functional. (see photo) The M8 on the back determines 1968 as the year of manufacture
This concerns the sale of an original Bulova Accutron Spaceview watch including original Bulova box and Bulova battery cover coin. Hence, a complete set. This watch is getting more and more rare. A very beautiful "vintage" timepiece with a high collector's value.
Please have a good look at the photos as they best describe the watch.
