Peter Klashorst (1957) - Mama Africa

Peter Klashorst is probably the most famous painter in the Netherlands. At least the most notorious.  Partly because of his lifestyle and his wonderful work. 

Last year, two beautiful books about his work have been released. "Dirty Diaries" and "Peter Klashorst: unauthorized Cambodia & Gambia”. Some of the works now offered on Catawiki are depicted in those books. 

Peter has been painting a lot on PVC since the time he lived in Cambodia. Painting linen is hard to get there. The advantage of painting on PVC is that the colours are very beautiful and bright, where on canvas the colours are often rather dull. This work is an excellent example in which Klashorst shows his ability
