A bird figure by ceramist Maps Färber. An abstract bird figure of ceramic, painted matte like old pottery.
This bird has two very different sides in terms pf colour and shapes.
The object is flawless, without damage.
The ceramic objects by Maps Färber are three dimensionally constructed of rings and glazed according to the old matte pottery at 1030 degrees. The look is very colourful, often humorous, sometimes with additions of found objects or brocante stuff. Themes are often animals, like cats, frogs and birds. Maps was educated at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Amsterdam (majors: sculpture and ceramics). Färbers graduated on Etruscan culture and after the academy followed another working period at the Europees Keramisch Werkcentrum (then still based in Heusden). Her sources of inspiration are: the Etruscans, Italy, Namibians, s/w Africa.
