In this lot we are offering up for auction small samples of the Allende (Mexico, 1969), Salla (Finland, 1963) + Kendleton (United States, 1939) meteorites.
The Allende meteorite is perhaps the most famous and studied CV3 type carbonaceous chondrite, which arrived on Earth in 1969, the same year that humans arrived on the Moon.
CV3 chondrites are famous for their CAIs (calcium and aluminium Inclusions), which with a formation age of over 4.7 billion years, are the oldest materials ever described and found. Besides, CV3 chondrites are rich in amino acids and water, so they are one of the basic pillars on which the theory that the seeds of life could reach the Earth with this type of meteorite is based.
The Salla meteorite is a true rarity of which only 7 kg have been recorded in total. This is an L6 type chondrite. On the other hand, only 6.9 kg of the Kendleton meteorite, which is an L4 type chondrite, are known.
Generally, CHONDRITES are the oldest meteorites in the solar system, having an estimated age of 4,550 million years. Gems of the universe in your hands.
Fantastic specimens to add to your collection. Do not miss this opportunity! Very rare!!!
All our meteorites come with an IMCA (International Meteorite Collectors Association) certificate, so we guarantee for life the authenticity of all our meteorites. Buy with guarantees.
Regards and best wishes.
