Biblia Statenbijbel 1657 printed in Amsterdam at the
Weduwe P.A. van Ravesteijn, large format 45 × 28 cm.
The so-called ‘Corrigeerbijbel’ in which the errors of the 1st edition have been corrected.
The Bible has a beautiful old leather binding in a special auburn colour; the spine is also old (restored), intact and solid.
It is a solid copy, all leaves are attached to the binding and the book closes well.
The old brass fittings are an exclusive, elaborately tooled original model, this is extremely rare; the clasps may be slightly younger than the rest but are also in good condition and matching, also in terms of ornaments.
Normal signs of use and some discolouration, see pictures
The 6 maps are by Nicaulas Visscher, in good condition and complete
