Edgard Farasyn (Antwerp 1858 - 1938 ) was a Belgian painter, watercolourist, and engraver. He studied at the Academy in Antwerp. Exhibited for the first time in Brussels in 1878. Initially painted domestic scenes and then outdoor scenes, for which he found inspiration in the city and in the old fish mine in Antwerp. Realistic design with subtle atmosphere. He was friends with Ernest Midy (1877 - 1938), with whom he was a frequent guest. He painted Kempen scenes there. He was co-founder of the group "Wees uzelf" in 1891. Was a teacher at the Academy in Antwerp. His work can be found in the museums of Antwerp, Brussels, and Kortrijk. Mentioned in all major Belgian art books.
