Rare powder flask, Maximilian,
South German/Northern Italy, circa 1550-1600.
Total height: 20 cm, width: 12 cm / 7 cm
Iron container, semicircular, conical shape, tapering in towards the top.
The semi-circular exterior is decorated with vertical grooves interspersed with wide stripes.
The same grooves, engravings and floral decorations (rare) are also on the powder measure.
Twisted, decorated spring lever.
The spring of the opening mechanism still works perfectly.
On the flat back is a long, narrow tapering belt hook.
This ends at the top with a hinge, that is locked with a screw (you could lift the cap and fill the black powder into the flask).
Original suspension rings and screws.
Striking patina, overall, in an excellent condition.
(No damage or holes)
A s it is, a rare piece in an impressive quality.
