This is the Gilera 500 Libero Liberati 1957 in the Scale 1:12.
Beautiful motor model from the 1950s from the world championship.
Model is mint with box.
Some sources report disagreements between Libero Liberati and Gilera that ended cooperation after 1957. Gilera had a number of problems which led to the decision to stop road racing in September 1957: Ferruccio Gilera, son of founder Giuseppe Gilera, had taken over the racing department in 1956 but had suddenly died of a tropical disease. As a result, the almost 70 year old Giuseppe had to continue to run the company. The lack of foreign competition (Norton, AJS, Matchless and BMW have not been competing for years) has trivialised Gilera’s good results. Sales were even disappointing and the company was on the verge of bankruptcy. On top of that, the best development engineers were deployed by the racing department and had no time to develop good motorbikes for the customers.
