Teruhide Kato was a famous kimono fashion designer. When he was 50 years old, he decided to follow his real passion, and he became a woodblock artist. With time he became as famous as a woodblock artist as he was as a kimono designer.
As in many of his prints, the composition is exceptionally powerful. The image shows the full moon high in the sky. Together with the chosen perspective of the pagoda, the result is a amazing impression of depth and space.
Signed - Lower right in the margin with red artist seal.
The woodblock print is in excellent condition and has never been framed before.
Will be shipped with great care in sturdy packaging to prevent folding.
