Okimono - Ivoire d’éléphant - Large and rare - Samurai wearing war armor - Signed Moriyuki - Japon - Période Meiji (1868–1912)

Large elephant ivory okimono depicting Samurai dressed with his war armature complete with his battle weapons. In his right hand he is holding his bow with the arrows in the quiver, while in his left hand he is holding a Chidori Jumonji Yari (large trident).
As well as carrying a Katana and wearing his armature, he is wearing a large inro with netsuke.
Signed on red lacquer engraved Moriyuki.

Excellent condition.

Original certificate compiled by Luca Mastromauro, an expert in Japanese art, registered with Milan Chamber of Commerce (number: 2617), which will be sent with the lot.
Along with the item is a copy of the certificate of antiquity conforming with the international CITES regulations, issued by CESAR, a centre of Archeometric studies with offices in London, Milan and Rome. The original is only available upon request.
