Ivan VI was born in Saint Petersburg to Prince Antony Ulrich of Brunswick-Luneburg and Duchess Anna Leopoldovna of Mecklenburg, niece of Empress Anna of Russia and granddaughter of Tsar Ivan V. He was proclaimed Emperor of Russia in 1740, as an infant, although he never actually reigned. Within less than a year, the Empress Elizabeth of Russia, Peter I’s daughter, overthrew him. Ivan spent the rest of his life as a prisoner and was killed by his guards during an attempt made to free him.

The coin depicts the Ivan VI. The character offsets itself from the finely engraved background, due to the applied color. Also, the coin is embellished with 24k gold-plating and two blue crystals. The name of the Emperor, as well as the number of the coin, is punched into the edge of the coin.
Obverse Design
The obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It is surrounded by beautiful ornaments, which give the coin a very special touch.
Packaging
The coin comes inside an elegant and rich wooden box, which is made from parts of real Karelian Birch. It is in a beautiful case, which is doing a great job in staging this remarkable coin. The Certificate of Authenticity (matching the number of the coin) is displayed on the inner packaging.
