江戸時代初期 Early Edo period (承応 Jōō era circa 1652).

・This sword was made around the early Edo Period (around 承応 Jōō era circa 1652)

Presumably this seems to have been made by 輝行 Teruyuki.



・Unsigned: 藤原 輝行 Fujiwara Teruyuki



・輝行 Teruyuki lived in 豊後国 (Bungo-no-Kuni), currently 大分県 (Oita Prefecture)



・The category of this sword is 新刀 Shinto (New Swords)

・Old polish



・There are some scratches due to the movement in and out of the scabbard.

・There are some tiny kitae-kizu flaws that come with age



・The hamon (temper line) of this sword is beautiful

Sori (Curvature): 1 cm

Motomihaba (width at Hamachi): 3.06 cm

Motokasane (Motokasane thickness): 7.9 mm

Sakimihaba: 2.46 cm

Nakago (blade tang length): 21.9 cm

Material: iron

刃文 Hamon (temper line): 小のたれ ko-notare

地肌 Jihada (forging grain): 板目肌 Itame-hada

Tsukurikomi: Shinogi zukuri

姿 Sugata (shape): O-Suriage (cut shortened)
