Sample of commemorative medal for the birth of Henri V, duc de Bourgogne, grandson of Charles X. Design by Jean-Charles Cahier, official goldsmith of Charles X.
Diameter 5 cm, gold-plated, behind glass, in ebonite frame. Slightly deviating from the final version of the medal, this is probably a trial stroke of the medal (as indicated on the label and in communication with Musée Carnavalet).
Very detailed, very refined finish.
