Original woodblock print by Utagawa Kunisada (歌 川 国 貞), also known as Utagawa Toyokuni III (三代 歌 川 豊 国), 1786–1865.
Scene fromt he kabuki theatre play "Konoshitakage masago no datezome" 木下蔭硯伊達染 performed in the Ichimura theatre in 1855.
The Ichimura-za (市村座) was a major kabuki theatre in the Japanese capital of Edo (later, Tokyo), for much of the Edo period, and into the 20th century. It was first opened in 1634 and was run by members of the Ichimura family for much of the following nearly three centuries before it was destroyed by fire in 1932.

Left print: Nakamura Fukusuke I as Kinugawa Watabei and Bando Hikosaburo IV as Sutewakamaru.
Right print: Kikugoro Onoe IV as Yori Ashikaga and Kikujiro Onoe II as Gion Oritsu.

Good condition, diptych consisting out of two separate prints, slight wear on the edge, no damage.
