A beautiful Japanese case with a cover of chased silver.
The front; right corner; flower, left corner; bird with green yellow enamel, bottom left: flower with yellow green enamel, bottom right, flowery enamel with purple, green yellow. Centrally at the front an ivory plaque depicting a woman made of mother of pearl and stones, shibayama technique. The back is marked with characters, which translate to 'for my (best) friend'.
The silver back is beautiful, large chased (lotus) flower with yellow enamel and a butterfly. The strap is made of crocodile leather.
The inside is made of purple linen and is a bit damaged and has two compartments.
This object is made of ivory and comes with a certificate. The certificate is issued by Mr. A. Keddeman. Appraiser has physically seen the object and has applied the material and dates. (Certificate:)
