“Quick au Bon Marché”, original page 2 of a gag created by Hergé in the Quick & Flupke series (1930).
The gag was published on Thursday 20 November 1930 in a special edition of "Le Petit Vingtieme" magazine no. 47 to promote the « Saint Nicolas » shopping period in the Brussels department store “Au Bon Marché”. See the image of the cover and the published gag (the actual magazine is not included in this lot).
The gag was never published in album!
Indian ink and pencil on sturdy drawing paper.
Signed HERGÉ in the last picture. The page is in very good condition.
Probably the oldest Quick & Flupke page on the market. Extraordinarily large paper size, 53 x 38.2 cm.
Very detailed drawing for the period that will have appealed to the young readers at the time.
Hergé lets Quick discover all kinds of new toys and also a (for that time) new invention: the escalator!
"Très curieux! Voilà exactement 1/2 heure que ce petit est a la même place".
The artwork can be picked up, if the Corona measures allow it.
It can also be shipped insured with door to door courier, e.g. UPS.
Overpaid shipping costs will be reimbursed to the buyer afterwards.
