The serving part features a detailed image of the municipal coat of arms of Rotterdam.
The municipal coat of arms is surrounded by an openwork floral (ajour) edge.
The openwork edge is particularly beautifully decorated with detailed images of 2 birds and leafs and floral motifs.
The beautifully shaped, sturdy and entirely tooled handle is adorned with a very detailed flying bird and floral motifs.
Nicely fully Dutch hallmarked and marked with hallmarks:
Fineness mark of a lion (in multiple places)
Assay office hallmark Minerva head.
Year letter C = 1939
Maker’s mark Z hammer, Z = Zaanland Silversmith N.V./B.V. Haarlem/Amsterdam.
