Raoul Martinez was born in Neuilly sur Seine on September 9th, 1876 and died there on September 18th, 1974.
He had a Spanish father and a French mother. As a painter he was self-taught.
He worked in Cuba, France (Paris), the Netherlands (Amsterdam, Vreeland and Zandvoort) and Belgium.

Martinez's work has been included in several large collections, including those of the Kroller-Muiller museum, the Central Museum in Utrecht and the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague.
