Among the first Public Debt documents from the Kingdom of Italy.
The Kingdom of Italy was the Italian state proclaimed on March 17, 1861 with the Unification of Italy, during the Italian Risorgimento, following the Second War of Independence fought by the Kingdom of Sardinia to achieve Italian national unification, then continued with the Third Italian War of Independence in 1866 and the annexation of the Papal State, with the consequent capture of Rome, in 1870.
It is the rarest and most sought-after Certificate of Public Debt precisely because it was the only one with the image of the First King of Italy, later replaced by Umberto I and higher runs.
