This oval shaped iron sign was used to indicate a tobacconist's shop during the Fascist Era, when the Kingdom of Italy was dominated by the dictator Benito Mussolini. The sign shows the Savoy coat of arms with the royal crown and the Fascist symbol, the fasces, the emblem of power and authority in ancient Rome. It shows the following words: “RIVENDITA SALI E TABACCHI Nº 11”. Each part of the sing is still clear-cut, the colours still perfectly vivid and no word is worn nor erased. Nowhere to be found a similar item in such good conditions!
