In the course of the 20th century, the Duvel Moortgat brewery delivered several better, premium lager beers, colloquially referred to as Export beers. One of them, brewed since 1945, got the name Vedett in 1965. Initially, it is mainly successful in the local cafés in the immediate vicinity of the brewery. From 2003 onwards, the brewery activates and rejuvenates the marketing about the beer. Vedett Extra Blond conquers a more prominent place next to Duvel in the assortment.
