Original woodblock print triptych Utagawa Kunisada ( 歌 川 国 貞 ) also known as Utagawa Toyokuni III ( 三代 歌 川 豊 国 ) 1786-1865.
The Bamboo Room Scene, 1830 - A scene from the play "Zensei kogane no hana" 全盛陸奥山, commonly known as "Meiboku Sendai Hagi," a tale about the disputed succession of the Date clan and the attempt to kill the young heir, Tsuruchiyo, who is under the care of the loyal nursemaid Masaoka.
From left, the actors are Bando Minosuke, Bando Sanpachi as Sensho, Iwai Kumesaburo as Okinoi, Iwai Hanshiro as Masaoka, and Iwai Yukariko as Tsuruchiyo.
Opgevoerd in het Ichimura theater in Edo in 1830.
Good/reasonable condition - worn spots due to age - stained - creases - no damage or restorations
