I am pleased to auction this lovely and antique music box dating back to the 19th century.
The box is made of briarwood veneer and has a small shield on its lid. It measures 13.5x8.5x6.5 cm
The mechanism is old, but it works well; it would certainly benefit from cleaning and oiling. It plays three songs whose titles appear on the label inside the lid:1- La Mascotte, valse. 2. La chasse des Princes3) La Marche de Louis XIII.
The comb is missing two teeth on the right end, which does not affect the music box operation as the shortcoming occurs beyond the length of the cylinder and there would not be any note to play anyway.
The wood is in good condition with some signs of wear and tear, especially on the lid, as pictured.
