Murato glass sculpture signed by Livio Seguso from the 1970s, depicting a woman who is holding an animal in her hands. In good condition with some slight flaws (as shown in photos).
The glass colours fades from the bottom up until it becomes transparent.
Livio Seguso was born in Murano in 1930. A glass sculptor, he joins at a very young age the furnace where he is a pupil and collaborator of Alfredo Barbini. He remained here until 1959 and later became the master of Salviati & C. as Luciano Gaspari’s ideal interpreter. In 1969, he opened his own glassworks where he combined his work as an entrepreneur with that of a sculptor, celebrating his art in an exhibition at Ca’ Pesaro in 1981. He gave up the furnace in 1990.
