Henri Victor Gabriel Le Fauconnier (Hesdin, 5 July 1881 – Paris, 25 December 1946) was a French cubist painter. His painting style was related to the work of Henri Matisse. Le Fauconnier went through during his life as an artist with various artistic phases. First of all, a neo-Impressionist period (1905-1907), then the Breton period (1908) in the style of the Nabis and the Fauves. Then followed the Cubist period (1909-1913) and the Dutch expressionist period (1914-1919). However, the artist gained his greatest fame with his oeuvre in the work influenced by Cubism and Futurism from the period shortly before the First World War. His work is included in the collection of many museums in France (Brest, Beauvais, Lyon, Paris), the Netherlands (The Hague, Haarlem, Bergen), Russia (St Petersburg), Germany (Bremen), Austria (Vienna) and the United States (New York).
