Ross Lovegrove - Luceplan - Lampe de table - Agaricon
A table lamp by the Italian producer Luceplan, design by Ross Lovegrove from 2001.
The name Agaricon (Greek for mushroom) says it all and is reflected in the elegant shape of the polycarbonate diffuser.
The special thing about this lamp, besides the shape, is the touch dimmer.
LucePlan Agaricon has an aluminium ring on the edge of the lid that acts as an interface with the user.
When it is gently pressed with the fingers or suddenly released, the light is gradually modulated to activate the electronic sensorial dimmer.
This allows the Agaricon lamp to be switched on and off while also adjusting the brightness.
The fixture is dimmed and switched on and off by touching the metal rim.
In very good condition with minor signs of wear.
About Luceplan Company: LucePlan Lighting was founded in 1978 by Paolo Rizzato, Riccardo Sarfatti and Sandra Severi, who had been together at Politecnico University in Milan. Over the years, LucePlan has created a collection of indoor and outdoor lamps, which are not only functional, but are derived from a design evolution rather than styling.
