d' Aquino Tommaso
D. Thomae Aquinatis Doctoris Angelici Opuscula Omnia Complectens
Apud Iulium Accoltum
(2), 267, (1), 147, (1), (8), 148
Large folio - 37 x 26.5 cm.
A wonderful copy of “Opuscula Omnia Complectens", complete with 3 parts related to it.
It belongs to the very rare Omnia Opera
Each tome of opera omnia deals with complete topics in their own right.
On the last photograph there is a summary of the topics, referring to each of the 18 volumes of the work
(taken from the first volume).
Fine and original coeval full leather binding on wooden slats, adorned with refined embossed decorations (animals, armour, drums, bows, quivers, scimitars, etc), all enclosed within elegant geometric frames.
The covers of the copies of this Opera Omnia (here are offered 5 volumes out of 18), while presenting the same figurative elements,
were bound each with different geometric designs, keeping the exclusive and precious uniqueness of each copy.
Traces of antique parchment used for the binding on the counter-plates (see photos).
Abrasions and defects on the covers,
especially where originally there were likely closing hooks.
The binding still looks firm and solid.
Recurring woodworm holes to the covers, expertly repaired.
Spine with 5 raised bands, with evocative coeval paper manuscripts and old archive placing.
Interior in good condition, with thick sheets and wide margins.
Presence of registrum and typographic brand (motto: sic crede) at the end of each part.
On sheet 18 of part II (opusculum LXVIII) is depicted the "Arbor Porphyrii" (see photos). Other figures present in part II (see photos).
Some browning and recurring punctiform traces of extinct woodworm.
The text is still perfectly readable (see photos).
Monastic ownership stamps in the text.
Beautiful watermark, with religious symbol, in the centre of numerous white sheets.
In good overall condition.
