Jean-Louis Domecq - Jielde - Lampe (2)

Description
Jean-Louis Domecq - Jielde - Lampe (2)
France - 1950-1974 - Acier

Twin JIELDE lamps with five articulating arms. TWO genuine icons of the French industrial style for rugged beauty. Original lamps in excellent condition for their age (70 years) were used in French factory workshops in the 1950s. Designed by the great French engineer Jean-Louis Domecq, now restored, preserving their industrial character with fine attention to detail by a Jielde expert. The unique feature of these lamps is the joint point. No loose wire is used. Domecq devised an original, safe alternative using copper rings in the joints to overcome this. No wire damage will occur.

Top Jielde examples shown here in daylight AND illuminated. Authentic riveted production labels. The graphite steel finish works in all modern, vintage, loft, or commercial spaces. The globe head is nicely rounded for its age and use. A rarity. The foot, (with pads to protect floors), holds this lamp very steady when extended to its full height.
