Italie - 1950-1974 - Verre

I am an enthusiast of Mid-Century style. On one of my travels, I have found this elegant gold-coloured Murano glass lamp with a gold galvanized brass framework. To obtain this effect on the glass surface, we have tried a technique called "vacuum metallisation" or aluminium sublimation, normally used on plastic. This process involves heating the metal coating material inside a vacuum chamber until it vaporizes and sticks to the glass. The hardest part of the renovation was getting the metal cladding to stick to the Murano glass. Art Deco style lamp. This lamp belongs to the style of the Russian avantgarde. It is an attempt to take art out of the paintings and transfer it into interior decor. The designer refers to Suprematism and to Malevic in particular. This love for movement can be found in the combination of geometric forms, such as circles, squares, lines, and rectangles, conceived as the supreme essence of vision.
