Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask has been aged in a combination of American oak and ex-sherry casks. This is a rich whisky which combines fruity citrus and caramel with spicy ginger and nutmeg.

Macallan 12 years Double Cask is a rich Macallan whiskey that combines citrus and fruity caramel with spicy ginger and nutmeg. It is a new expression of Macallan's age statement that has matured into a combination of American and European oak barrels from Sherry Oak for a minimum of 12 years. Although here, the proportion of ex-Sherry American oak barrels is higher than in Sherry oak, but ex-bourbon barrels are not used as in the case of Macallan 12 years Fine Oak. The nose presents the classical terrain of nuts, and is less intense than the expression of Sherry oak. On the palate it is creamy and with honey flavors with a bit of thick-cut jam, cinnamon and hot cakes. It has a fruity finish with vanilla and sultana.
