Cheiro, deviated from the word chiromancy, meaning palmistry. He was a self-described clairvoyant who learned palmistry, astrology and Chaldean numerology during his stay in India. He was celebrated as he used these learned methods for divination and made personal predictions for famous clients and to predict world events. (Source: Wikipedia).
