Here is some information on Dorothy Hafner:
Born in Woodbridge, Connecticut, Hafner received her bachelor's degree from Skidmore College in 1974,  and also completed her graduation work at that institution. 2] She then worked as production manager for the International Craft Film Festival and from 1976 was director of the international department of the Museum of Contemporary Crafts in New York City. The two years after that, she was an in-residence artist at Artpark in Lewiston, New York. In 1979 she founded the firm Art in Dining in New York City, under which she designed porcelain tableware for companies such as Neiman Marcus and Tiffany & Co.; from 1982 her work was also carried by Rosenthal. Her work has won numerous awards and prizes. 1] Hafner started her career as a ceramist, but in 1997 she focused exclusively on glassware. 2] Two of her works are in the collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
