Spanish clockmaker
José Rodríguez Losada (1797-1870) Losada was a Spanish clockmaker from the middle of the nineteenth century who signed his watches with "J.R. Losada". Losada, a liberal former army man, lived in London.
Beautiful, fine gold savonette from the workshop of J.R. Losada.
Interesting solid gold pocket watch, 18 kt (0.750) - hallmarked several times.
Fine guilloched casing. Front with artistic monogram. Glass bezel. Top preserved condition.
Very well preserved engraved silver dial with gold decorations. Very fine Roman numerals. Large second hand in the middle. Blued steel hands - very fine.
Outer floral ornamental circle with gold leaves. Masterly engraving in the centre. All hand-engraved. Signed "J.R.Losada 105 Regent Street London 8688"
Hand adjustment by means of pushers at four and turning of the crown by means of a key from the back.
Guilloched case back.
Gold dust cover. Partially engraved around the winding hole and the time setting hole.
Fire-gilt movement key with interesting design - duplex movement - diamond-bearing jewel. Signed "J.R.Losada 105 Regent Street London No.8688"
Movement fully functional. Winding key is included.
Watch diameter: 55 mm without crown - with pendant: 76 mm Weight: 121 g.
Collector's watch in best condition. A true jewellery.
