A 19th century silver-plated Christofle duck press or duck squeezer, as some would call it, which was used to squeeze blood and bone marrow from ducks for a particular dish. Condition: in good condition, loose compression disc which belongs in the tray (visible in the photo), should probably be attached to the bottom of the screw-thread of the rotating wheel, which no longer has a screw-thread in the hole ( see photo). Apart from that, everything else works properly, the spinning wheel itself works fine. Size: height 40 cm, width 28, depth 20 cm, wooden base 40 x 22 x 3 cm. Weight: 12 kg A magnificent item that is often used as a decorative centrepiece in high-end restaurants all over the world. A similar duck press by the 19th century manufacturer Christofle, with an engraved emblem of a famous French restaurant, was sold to a collector for about 10 times more than the estimate, which ranged between €4,000 and €6,000; it was sold for €40,000.
