During the Lower Permian, 285 million years ago, Germany was positioned near the equator on the supercontinent Pangea in a hot and dry intercontinental climate.
In Southwest Germany, Rhineland-Palatinate, the Saar-Nahe-Basin was covered with large shallow lakes. In these lakes thrived a vivid sweetwater ecosystem, containing early amphibs, the largest of them, Sclerocephalus haeuseri, reaching up to nearly 2 meters in length, having the appearance of crocodiles.
This Branchiosaur has an overall length of 10 cm and shows nice details.
The fossil will be shipped insured and with tracking number via Colissimo from France. It can of course be collected if preferred.
