Peinture de procession - Huile sur toile - Seconde moitié du XIXe siècle

Description
Peinture de procession - Huile sur toile - Seconde moitié du XIXe siècle
Italie

Oil painting on canvas, depicting a procession, probably during Good Friday (given the confraternity holding the Cross). In a coeval French-style box frame in wood with real gold leaf gilding. The painting comes from an inheritance in Bergamo and, although anonymous, it was painted by an artist from Lombardy in the second half of the nineteenth century. In good condition, craquelure and signs of wear on textured and stable painting surface. In the 1960s, the canvas was fixed on a wooden panel, removing the probably poorly preserved stretcher. Frame size: 51x42 cm. Shipping with professional packaging.
